All That Glitters Isn’t Gold

Weaving together historical and contemporary narratives, I combine my own photographs with sourced vernacular images to examine how ownership and greed function like a virus within American identity, endlessly replicating through cycles of exploitation. By considering how visual histories are constructed, manipulated, and repurposed, the project investigates how those in power shape collective memory and control the stories we tell, using images to challenge and interrogate those narratives.
